Drucker, a Principal Researcher and manager of the VUE group in VIBE at Microsoft Research, will be the Department of Computer Science and Engineering's first distinguished lecturer for the spring semester. Dr. Drucker will present, "Dealing with your Digital Stuff: Managing Digital Collections," on Monday, March 31, 2014 at 4:10 p.m. in room 124 of the H.R. Bright Building on the Texas A&M University campus.

He will explore an assortment of diverse projects and share "some common techniques for dealing with our digital 'stuff'." Immediately following his talk there will be an open reception in the atrium outside room 124.

Dr. Drucker received his Ph.D. from the Computer Graphics and Animation Group at the MIT Media Lab before joining Microsoft.

In addition to his work at Microsoft Research, Dr. Drucker is an affiliate professor in the Computer Science & Engineering department of the University of Washington. He has filed more than 100 patents and published papers on exploratory search, information visualization, multi-user environments, online social interaction, hypermedia research, human and robot perceptual capabilities, robot learning, parallel computer graphics, spectator oriented gaming, and human interfaces for camera control.
