Sean P. Merrell, a graduate of the Zachry Department of Civil Engineering at Texas A&M University, was named the Engineer of the Year by the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) Dallas Branch. Merrell, who received his bachelor’s degree in 2000 and his masters in 2001, worked for the Texas A&M Transportation Institute (TTI) for three years while completing his degrees.
Merrell is a project manager in the Traffic Engineering Department at Brown & Gay Engineers Inc., and manages all traffic engineer related projects for three North Texas offices including projects involving traffic signal design, traffic signal timings, intelligent transportation systems, traffic operations, signing and pavement markings, illumination and traffic studies. He has also worked for the City of Frisco as a Senior Traffic Engineer.
