Chun-Wei Yao, a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, was selected as the Dwight Look College of Engineering’s recipient of the George Bush Presidential Library Foundation Grant. Yao was selected for the award due to his exemplary academic record and research accomplishments.
The grant is awarded to provide educational opportunities to Texas A&M students in support of travel to conferences, research projects, study, or internships in the United States or abroad.
Under the guidance of Dr. Jorge Alvarado of the Department of Engineering Technology and Industrial Distribution (ETID), Yao has been able to publish three journal articles in renowned journals including Applied Physics Letters.
He has also made presentations at the American Physical Society Annual Conference of the Division of Fluid Dynamics and other renowned engineering conferences. His ground-breaking work in the area of dropwise condensation using novel micro- and nanostructured surfaces has been praised by many in the engineering community.
