Bruce Chinn, a graduate of the Artie McFerrin Department of Chemical Engineering at Texas A&M University, has been named general manager of the Chevron Pascagoula Refinery in Pascagoula, Miss. The appointment is effective March 1.

Chinn joined Chevron in 2006 and will succeed current general manager Tom Kovar, who is retiring in April. Chinn currently works as a deputy upgrader manager in Puerto La Cruz, Venezuela for Chevron Global Technology Services Co.

Prior to his current assignment, Chinn served as refinery operations manager at Chevron's refinery in Richmond, Calif.

"I look forward to the opportunity to lead Chevron's largest and most complex refinery, especially as we ramp up the Pascagoula base oil plant to full production," Chinn said in an article on gulflive.com, which is the online home of The Mississippi Press and Mobile’s Press-Register.  "The Pascagoula Refinery is well-known as an industry leader, particularly in performance, partnership and safety. We will build on that reputation and strive for continued success in our business and community."
