BH AndersonByron Anderson has created a fellowship in the Department of Mechanical Engineering. The Byron H. Anderson ’54 Fellowship will provide one or more scholarships to full-time students in good standing pursuing a graduate degree in mechanical engineering from Texas A&M University.

“I created the fellowship as a way to repay the fellowship awarded to me by Humble Oil & Refining Company while I pursued my master’s degree,” said Anderson. “I want to help others experience the benefits of attending Texas A&M which provided the basis for my fulfilling lifetime of work and personal achievements.”

Endowed fellowships help encourage undergraduate students to pursue advanced degrees. Both scholarships and fellowships are crucial to the future of Texas A&M because they provide benefits to students for generations.

The Byron H. Anderson ’54 Fellowship will be funded by a combination of current and planned gifts to the Texas A&M Foundation.

Anderson said his wish is to do whatever he can to assure the significant virtues of Texas A&M remain available to others. He earned his bachelor’s and master’s degree in mechanical engineering. He is retired from Lockheed Aeronautics Company.
