Undergraduate Advising

Welcome to undergraduate advising for the Department of Engineering Technology and Industrial Distribution (ETID)!

We are located in Heaton Hall, and our office is staffed Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. We are closed when Texas A&M University is closed. Please refer to the Academic Calendar for closure dates.

Fall 2026 Advising Hours: September 28 - November 13

To ensure personalized support, our advising services are available by appointment and drop-in during the following hours:

Mondays & Fridays:

All Day: Appointments Only! 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
In-person at Heaton Hall or virtual via Zoom.
All appointments must be scheduled through Navigate!

Tuesdays, Wednesdays & Thursdays:

Mornings: Appointments Only! 9:00 – 11:30 a.m.
In-person at Heaton Hall or virtual via Zoom.
All appointments must be scheduled through Navigate!

Afternoons: Drop-in Advising 1:30 – 4:00 p.m.
In-person at Heaton Hall or Virtual via Zoom at ETID Zoom Drop-In.

Things to Know

Appointments fill up fast, so book accordingly.
- If you are over 5 minutes late and haven't notified your advisor, you will be marked off as a ‘no show.’
- We open appointments on Fridays for the following week. If you don't see any available for that week, please either come to drop-ins (when offered) or check back on Friday to book for the next week.

Are you a General Engineering student?
If you haven't completed the Entry-to-a-Major (ETAM) process, you will NOT be able to enroll in any ETID courses until you are placed in one of our majors. If you are awaiting an ETAM decision, you must wait until you get your results.

How to Schedule an Advising Appointment

Schedule an appointment by logging in to Navigate with your NetID and password and following these steps:
1. Select the blue “Schedule an Appointment” button.
2. Select "Advising Texas A&M University."
3. Select a “Service” that pertains to the advising needs
4. Pick a date.
5. Select the blue “Find Available Times” button.
6. Select “Virtual (Zoom)” or “In-Person” in the left menu “How would you like to meet?”
7. Select " EN-ETID – See Additional Details.”
8. Choose a time or choose an advisor, then a time.
9. Select the blue “Schedule” button.
