While at Texas A&M University, John Kenner majored in aerospace engineering and was a member of the Corps of Cadets in Company E-1. There, he found he enjoyed the mathematics and sciences of aerospace and the team building and mental sparring of the Corps. Upon graduation, Kenner joined LTV Missiles and Electronics Group, now Lockheed Martin, working on anti-satellite, anti-tank, and various aircraft projects.  Kenner later received a master of science degree in mechanical engineering from The University of Texas at Austin, joined the oil services industry and, thereafter, received a master’s of business administration from the Cox School of Business at Southern Methodist University.  In 2011, Kenner founded Summit ESP, a company specializing in electrical submersible pumps, and sold it to Halliburton in 2017.  Kenner believes aerospace engineers can achieve great results in many disciplines from building an expansive analytical and experimental toolkit. Kenner supports the Sunset High School Scholarship Foundation in Dallas’ Oak Cliff, Texas A&M scholarship programs, and inner city programs such as the Positive Black Male Association, in Houston’s Third Ward.
