Method of Selection

The selection committee typically consists of two emeriti faculty members, two faculty members, and two active members of the profession. This anonymous committee, appointed by the department head, will review nominations and rank recommendations by ballot. Recommendations and supporting citations will be submitted to the department head for final approval. If determined that there are no qualified applicants, the committee will have the option to recommend to the department head that no awards be made. Award winners will be determined by the consensus of the selection committee. To protect the integrity of the process, all information regarding the selection committee and nominations is kept confidential.

Notification

The award recipients will be contacted by the department head. The recipient will be recognized in the Fall 2023 semester with an award presented by the department head. A news article will be released on the department’s website following the award recognition.
