Research Interests

  • Achu Byju works in the Biomedical Devices Laboratory under Dr. Balakrishna Haridas. He is the lead engineer on a wide range of translational research projects involving the development, testing and commercialization of minimally invasive surgical devices and implants for fetal surgery, pediatric and adult indications. Byju's work involves collaboration with R&D partners at Texas Children's Hospital/Baylor College of Medicine and numerous medical device companies on projects funded by the FDA, NIH and Corporate Sponsors. He also serves as a R&D project mentor and supervisor for graduate students enrolled in the BioInnovation Master's of Engineering program in the Department of Biomedical Engineering.
