The Department of Biomedical Engineering celebrated its 50th anniversary during the 2022 Biomedical Engineering Society Annual Meeting in San Antonio, Texas, with a platinum sponsorship.

The Department of Biomedical Engineering at Texas A&M University celebrated its 50th anniversary by hosting three world-renowned researchers and National Academy of Engineering members to speak at its celebratory symposium.

The Department of Biomedical Engineering celebrated its 50th anniversary by hosting a symposium with presentations from National Academy members, former students and industry partners. The event highlighted contributions the department has made to the biomedical field.

Anniversary Symposium 

A presentation series from former students and other special guests as we discussed 50 years of innovations and impacts across multiple areas of biomedical engineering. 

Friday, October 28 from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. at the Hildebrand Equine Center

Awards Banquet

A formal celebration of our 50th year as a program. We recognized the achievements of our students, faculty and alumni.

Friday, October 28 from 5:30-8:30 p.m. at the Hildebrand Equine Center

  • Hors d'oeuvres, drinks and Reveille pictures at 5:30 p.m.
  • Dinner served at 6:30 p.m.

Tailgate & Watch Party

We enjoyed food, drinks and camaraderie outside the Emerging Technologies Building (ETB), home to the Department of Biomedical Engineering. Tours of ETB and the Zachry Engineering Education Complex were provided, as well as lawn games and inflatables. Lastly, a watch party as the Aggies played Ole Miss!
