- Aerospace engineering (AERO) students must take courses listed on their degree plan each semester. Failure to take courses toward your declared degree is a violation of Texas A&M University policy.
- Be aware of prerequisites. Courses must be taken in proper sequence (see degree plan/catalog).
- For those enrolled under a catalog from 2021 or later, a "C" or better must be earned in all AERO courses. For those enrolled under a catalog before 2021, a "C" or better must be earned in all prerequisite courses.
- A course may not be attempted more than three times. If a required course on the Aerospace Degree Plan is not passed with a "C" or better after the third attempt, the student is no longer eligible to continue as an aerospace major. Q-dropping or withdrawing from a course will count as one attempt. Students attempting a course for a third time will be placed on departmental probation.
- Students with a semester GPA<2.0 or an overall GPA<2.0 are on Academic Probation. If the overall GPA has a net deficit of >23 grade points (GP) for U1, >17 GP for U2, >13 GP for U3, and >9 GP for U4 below a 2.00, then a student is suspended from Texas A&M.
- Students who earn a semester GPA of below 2.5 will be required to complete an Academic Success Certificate the following semester.
- Preregistration is a privilege. AERO will block students from preregistration who are struggling (midterm D or F, academic probation, etc.) or for failure to attend mandatory Town Hall meetings, advising meetings or abide by deadlines.
- Once you are enrolled in a course past the Q-drop deadline, AP credit can no longer be applied to that course, regardless of the outcome of the course.
- Three hours of co-op (ENGR 385) credit will count for one three-hour technical elective course. (Each tour of co-op is worth one hour of ENGR 385 credit.) Less than three hours will not qualify you to receive technical elective credit.
- Three hours of preapproved honors research credit (AERO 485/491) will count for one three-hour technical elective course. Less than three hours will not qualify you to receive technical elective credit.
- Any student found registered for improper coursework three days after grades post will be blocked from preregistration for the following preregistration period.
- It is understood and expected that you will be working toward a degree in aerospace engineering. It is your responsibility to understand the degree requirements along with deadlines, policies and procedures of the university, college and department.
- You will assume accountability for all emails received from the university, college and departmental advisors; all information listed in your degree plan packet; and all the above stated.
