Engineering Medicine (EnMed) is Texas A&M University’s innovative engineering and medicine degree program offered at the School of Engineering Medicine in Houston, Texas.
A collaboration between Texas A&M’s College of Engineering, College of Medicine and the state’s top-ranked Houston Methodist Hospital, EnMed was established to train and equip physicianeers, a distinct class of medical professionals with expertise in both medicine and engineering who are driven to design innovative, practical, and impactful solutions to revolutionize healthcare.
Graduates of EnMed will earn their Doctor of Medicine degree from the College of Medicine and their Master of Engineering degree from the College of Engineering. The degree plan is focused on the design and implementation of medical technologies in the same four years through a revolutionary integrated curriculum.

EnMed students are expected to be early adopters of transformational technologies, maintain a unique vigilance for opportunities to innovate during their clinical practice and possess real-world experience developing innovative medical technologies acquired through “innovation rotations” with EnMed researchers, collaborators and industry partners while in the program.
