The following is an overview of the undergraduate student projects and research opportunities in the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department (ECEN) at Texas A&M University.

Capstone Design Laboratory

Courses ECEN 403 and 404 are part of an industry-sponsored program that introduces our undergraduate students to the design process and project engineering as practiced in industry. Student teams apply the design process by developing a project proposed by industry sponsors through test and evaluation.

Research Experiences for Undergraduates

Our undergraduate students can participate in ongoing research with faculty members through the Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REU) program funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF).

The program spans 10 weeks, focuses on research topics related to smart energy and systems, and involves undergraduate students from Texas A&M University and students from other colleges and universities. REU students participate in developing the next generation of algorithms, protocols and prototype technologies and leveraging advances in intelligent signal processing, computation, microelectronics and nanoscale device synthesis.
