Go Beyond with Camp SOAR (Summer Opportunities in Aerospace Research)

Camp Soar 2

Camp SOAR is a six day summer camp designed to expose upcoming high school juniors and seniors with an interest in Aerospace Engineering to the research and facilities at Texas A&M University’s Department of Aerospace Engineering (AERO). During the week at Texas A&M, students will be able to explore the field though design projects and departmental tours. They will have the opportunity to interact with current students as well as world renowned faculty.

Students will get to visit many of our facilities including but not limited to the Vehicle Systems and Control Laboratory, Land Air and Space Robotics Lab, the Oran W. Nicks Low Speed Wind Tunnel and many more. They will be given the choice of pursuing an airplanes, rockets, helicopters or air ships track and then will participate in a fly off event at the conclusion of the week. Throughout the week, campers will be exposed to the engineering design process and the importance of teamwork.

Participants will stay on campus in modern residence halls and will have use of the university’s recreational facilities, the university library and the university’s computer facilities.
