Research Interests

  • His research examines how engineers develop professional competencies and identity and how engineering programs can better prepare students for real-world practice from a pedagogical perspective. He focuses on experiential learning (capstone, internships/co-ops, interdisciplinary projects, study abroad), contemporary pedagogy, competency assessment and curriculum design, global engineering, and scalable supports for early career faculty and doctoral student development and mentoring.
