On Thursday, July 10, The Department of Computer Science and Engineering at TAMU hosted the CSE Ice Cream Social in order to showcase the new back porch of the Harvey R. “Bum” Bright building. The CSE Ice Cream Social was the very first event to be held outside at our new CSE Back Porch. If you have not already, stop by soon and enjoy the tables and added shade provided by the umbrellas!

In addition to the back porch, there are also new student collaboration spaces on the third, fourth and fifth floors of the Harvey R. “Bum” Bright building giving as well students the ability to gather outside of their own research labs. Electronic displays are on each floor of H.R.B.B allowing everyone to see all the upcoming events within the department.

The department also recently took delivery in July on a 2011 Presidential Club Car (aka Golf Cart/SMV - Slow Moving Vehicle) from Rick's Golf Cars in College Station. Advisory Council members Eric Marin and Mark Huse presented the golf cart to the department.

In addition to all of this, CSE has honored scientists presented with the A.M. Turing Award, by hanging posters in the Harvey R. “Bum” Bright building, Teague, and Reed-McDonald.
