Position Responsibilities:

Develop, evaluate, and design specifications and contract drawings. Perform variety of tasks to support engineering analyses, report production, and designs. Prepare basic calculations. Coordinate with other disciplines. Schedule project deliverables. Collect, organize, and evaluate data. Analyze systems utilizing computer modeling. Organize and file project materials and references.; Individual contributor with no subordinates.

Position Responsibilities:

No experience required. Current enrollment in ABET accredited university in civil engineering program with emphasis in structural, environmental, transportation, or geotechnical.

• Ideal candidates will be in their senior year of a Bachelor's or are in between years of a master’s program in schools of Architecture or Engineering (Civil and Environmental), Building Engineering (Science), and Building Construction and Technology. Must have at least a 3.0 out of 4.0 overall GPA.

• Stand-out candidates are also seeking minors or certificates in interdisciplinary programs that integrate education in fields related to building performance, such as construction management, sustainability, and mechanical systems.

• A strong interest in supporting and working with a professional staff that focuses on evaluating and designing repairs for problems that occur in the built world.

• Candidates should be available to work a minimum of 40 hours a week.

• Additionally, qualified candidates will demonstrate strong leadership skills, integrity, excellent oral and written communication skills, drafting proficiency, curiosity, and enthusiasm.

Plants and Paving Segment - The Engineering Intern is assigned to a plant location for a 10-12 week, full-time, summer program. Each intern will be provided a Mentor who will assign daily activities and assist with training. Engineering Interns will be given a list of goals to complete throughout the summer and summarize their experience with a final Presentation.

Responsibilities may include:

Observe the asphalt production to include daily reports and inspections; learn how to write RFI's and track quantities; assist with estimating and quality control; haul analysis and forecasting; night shift experience; working with the paving/milling/and traffic control crew onsite; assist the safety manager with weekly audits, investigations, and toolbox talks; office and field administrative duties

Projects Segment

Become familiar with reading plan drawings; assist the safety manager with weekly audits, investigations, and toolbox talks; learn how to write RFI's and track quantities; interaction with project foreman and superintendent; working with the crew onsite; assist with quantity takeoffs and estimating; exposure to safety, survey and quality control tasks as required; may work with HCSS heavy bid software, Bluebeam, & Primavera job scheduling software
