Parsons Infrastructure | Structural Engineering Intern | Paid, Full-Time

Parsons Infrastructure is seeking motivated engineering students with an interest in bridge structures for a summer intern position. The position is located in a vibrant, downtown Chicago office of over 100 employees, and is close to public transportation and the Metra commuter rail stations. Under the supervision of experienced senior engineers, the intern will work individually and in teams on the development of bridge designs. Tasks can include bridge inspection work, structural modeling and analysis, design checks using applicable codes, and drawing work in MicroStation and AutoCAD.

Position Requirements:

Civil engineering students nearing completion of undergraduate studies, or students currently enrolled in graduate studies are encouraged to apply. Students should have completed courses such as structural analysis, steel or concrete design, geotechnical engineering, etc.

Texas Transportation Institute (TTI) | Undergraduate Transportation Safety Research Internship | Paid, Full-Time

The purpose of this program is to provide an opportunity for outstanding undergraduate students to engage in transportation safety research. The program is designed to provide students with an opportunity to make a contribution to ongoing safety research and further their knowledge of the transportation safety field. Students will join the research team of an existing project for a 10-week summer internship May 29-August 3, 2018. The position pays $6000 plus a housing and food allowance.

Oasis Petroleum | Enviromental Engineering Intern | Paid, Full-Time

Oasis Petroleum is currently seeking an intern to support the environmental team. The primary function of this role is to provide supervised environmental air quality support for Oasis Petroleum field operations.

The environmental intern will primarily focus on air quality aspects of the environmental function and will work with engineers, planners, operations, safety, environmental professionals, IT staff, and other departments to complete project driven analysis and evaluation of air quality compliance. The successful candidate will also participate in activities that may include regulatory review and interpretation, technical calculations and estimations. The candidate will be required to present process improvement recommendations to management at the end of the summer based on the project scope and completion at the end of the summer. Level and salary commensurate with experience. 

Responsibilities may include:

• Calculate and estimate emissions, energy demands, field work and conduct environmental impact assessment
• Develop and support plans, programs, and procedures guiding regulatory compliance

• Incorporate any Federal or State rules/regulations, rule amendments and other air quality considerations into policies and procedures as they relate to the project
