The Engineering Teaching Award recognizes teaching excellence by Texas A&M University College of Engineering faculty.

The Engineering Teaching Award is not limited to classroom performance. It includes a wide range of activities, including undergraduate and graduate teaching, graduate advising and academic materials development at all levels. However, teaching is one aspect of faculty excellence that should be emphasized in the nomination.

Recognition may be made for teaching excellence at the undergraduate and/or graduate level and should focus on contributions and activities during the past five years. Nominations are to be submitted by department heads (one nomination per department). Academic professional track faculty are eligible. Holders of endowed positions (i.e., professorships and chairs) are eligible for this award.

Nomination Package

The nomination package for teaching should be submitted in this order and should include:

  1. The nomination form.
  2. Teaching evaluation summaries for the past number of years that correspond to the nominee’s eligibility of years of service noted above: full professors - five years; associate professors - three years; assistant professors - three years; and academic professional track faculty - three years.
  3. Two letters of recommendation by current or past students.
  4. The nominee’s CV (limited to 20 pages).
