Petroleum engineering (PETE) Certificate/Continuing (CE) Education students only:

Getting Started

You will be issued a universal identification number (UIN) AFTER:

  • You are accepted into the PETE CE Program and
  • You have registered for one course the first semester you are in the program.

Once you receive a UIN, do the following:

  • Open a web browser (e.g., Mozilla Firefox or Microsoft Internet Explorer) and go to http://gateway.tamu.edu/.
  • Click the Claim NetID link.
  • Enter your UIN and select your birthdate.
  • Click the Login button
  • On the next screen, enter your chosen NetID and click the Submit the button.
  • Create a password. Enter it again to confirm your password, then click Submit.

Once you have activated your account, you will be able to access your Google Apps account/mailbox. Just go to http://google.tamu.edu and click on the desired resource link. Your mailbox address is set to your NetID, so your email address will be your NetID@email.tamu.edu.

Were you previously enrolled as a student at Texas A&M?

If you were previously enrolled as a regular student at Texas A&M within the past several years, your NetID account may still exist but you will need to reset the password:

All official university email is sent to your TAMU email account at http://google.tamu.edu and is accessed using your NetID.
