Seminars

Thursdays 4:25-5:15 p.m. during fall semester and 3:55-4:45 p.m. during spring semester

The Department of Ocean Engineering hosts weekly seminar series throughout the fall and spring semesters. During the fall semester, the seminar is attended by both senior undergraduate students and graduate students. In the spring semester, the seminar is attended by graduate students only.

The seminar introduces responsibilities and obligations of new ocean engineers; professional ethics, membership in professional societies and professional registrations; case studies and lectures presented by staff and practicing engineers.

MeetingThe objectives of the seminar are to introduce senior and graduate students in coastal & ocean engineering to the ocean engineering profession, both in industry and graduate school, through:

  • Seminars given by practicing ocean engineers and researchers
  • Seminars hosted by ocean engineering faculty
  • Tours of on-campus research facilities
  • Seminar discussions related to all aspects of the ocean engineering profession

If you can come to College Station and present a seminar for this seminar series, please contact Dr. Robert Randall.
