Archive for unconventional reservoirs

Texas A&M Engineering Experiment Station and Marathon Oil Corp. initiated a research program to study advanced fluid flow processes and recovery techniques from unconventional resources. Professors and industry personnel will work together to increase knowledge, benefit education and aid industry practices.

Dr. David Schechter’s research group has developed a new type of simulator that better illustrates and predicts the effects of unconventional reservoir recovery techniques. It draws on data from laboratory experiments and combines it with original coding and geologic data to produce better models to aid industry.
