Nelson endows sixth chemical engineering scholarship

Brock Nelson ’90 of Wichita, Kansas, has endowed a sixth scholarship through the C.D. Holland Scholars Program in the Artie McFerrin Department of Chemical Engineering.

“Mr. Nelson’s passion for students spans beyond just chemical engineering,” said Thadd Hargett, director of development for the Texas A&M Foundation. “He has established numerous scholarships within the college of education, college of veterinary medicine and the college of agriculture. His longtime commitment to educational excellence has resulted in opportunities for many students to further their educational careers.”

The Nancy M. and Brock D. Nelson ’90 Scholarship VI targets full-time, out-of-state undergraduate students pursuing a degree in chemical engineering. To be eligible for this scholarship, students must exhibit superior academic performance in accordance with the C.D. Holland Scholars Program criteria.

Brock Nelson is president of Spring Creek Capital, a subsidiary of Koch Industries Inc. He is currently an active member of the Artie McFerrin Department of Chemical Engineering Advisory Council.
