Glover appointed chemical engineering interim head

Photo of Dr. Charles GloverDr. Charles Glover, professor, has been appointed interim head of the Artie McFerrin Department of Chemical Engineering at Texas A&M University.

A faculty member for more than three decades, Glover earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Virginia and a Ph.D. Rice University.

His research focuses on asphalt materials rheological properties, oxidation kinetics, and developing a thermal and oxygen transport model for the oxidation of asphalt binders in pavements.

Additionally, he collaborates with researchers in the Zachry Department of Civil Engineering and the Texas Transportation Institute on the effects of binder oxidation on pavement performance such as age-related fatigue cracking, aggravated by binder oxidation.

In 2001, he received the Texas Department of Transportation's Top Innovation Award and was named a TEES Fellow.
