Open to students from Texas A&M as well as from other universities within the U.S..

Prerequisites:

  • Must be a U.S. resident or permanent resident.
  • Must have completed freshman year.
  • Undergraduate major within materials science, mechanical/aerospace engineering, physics, math, or related fields.

Research Plan:
CREDDS REU students will work with the groups of professors Dr. Michael J. Demkowicz, Dr. George M. Pharr, Dr. Alan Needleman or Dr. Karl 'Ted' Hartwig on topics relating to the processing, structure, and mechanical properties of advanced multiphase metal composites. Projects may focus on experiments, computer modeling, or theory, depending on the interests of the student and faculty advisor.
