Master's Programs


Undergraduate degree from an accredited college or university
  • Degree should be from engineering, mathematics, physics, computer science, or similar background
  • Other degrees such as business, management, or engineering technology may be considered so long as the applicant meets all other entrance requirements
  • Prerequisite Courses:
    • Students have taken at least two courses of engineering calculus
    • One course of linear or matrix algebra
    • One course of calculus-based physics

Admission Criteria

Undergraduate GPA of 3.0 or higher (on a 4.0 scale) for the last 60 hours GRE quantitative score of 155 or higher
International students must have one of the following:
  • GRE verbal score of 146 or higher
  • TOEFL internet-based scores of 80 or higher
  • IELTS 6.0 or higher

Admission Deadlines

Fall Admission:
  • U.S. Citizens and Permanent Residents apply by June 1st
  • International students apply by March 1st
Spring Admission:
  • All applicants (U.S. and International) apply by August 1st

Course Transfer Policy

Up to 4 courses in graduate standing, or 12 credit hours, may be transferred from other institutions, subject to the approval of the ISEN Graduate Program Director, provided that the student earned a B or better in each course and the courses were not applied toward another earned degree.

Continuing Education Certificate Programs

Applicants should have an undergraduate degree in engineering and some work experience. With the continuing education program, there is no need to take the GRE.

  • Printer/scanner access strongly recommended
  • Software requirements:  The industrial and systems engineering cloud computing and operation provides remote access to many licensed software products such as Microsoft Office, MiniTab, Matlab, AutoCAD, Lindo/Lingo, Simio, Arena, Visual Studio, SolidWorks, and Decision Tools Suite. The use of these products is free to students in the industrial and systems engineering distance learning programs.
