Petroleum Field Trip

The academic objectives for the course is to provide to the students with a field trip to several oil productions facilities where they will be able to experience real life installations with actual dimensions. The international location will be able to enhance student learning because Qatar produced 2.1 million barrels per day (b/d) of petroleum and other liquids in 2014. Natural gas meets most of Qatar’s domestic energy demand, so the country is able to export most of its liquid fuels production. Given its small population, Qatar’s energy needs are met almost entirely by domestic sources. Students under this track will have a global focus where they would spend their Spring Break in Qatar in an International Field Trip.
