International Internship - Malaysia

In this program students work on a research project under the supervision of a professor from Petronas University in a topic that is of joint interest of the student and the hosting faculty. Student/Faculty matching is done by Petronas University. Students register for 1 credit of ENGR 484 at Texas A&M. The faculty of record for the ENGR 484 is the co-op advisor of the student’s department.

The 1-credit ENGR 484 can count as a technical elective. Approval by each department. It counts as the international Component of the Engineering International Certificate (/global/certificate)

Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (UTP) was established in 1997 and has grown to be one of the most prominent private universities in Malaysia. Situated 40 km south-west of Ipoh, the capital city of Perak Darul Ridzuan and 50 km north-east of Lumut, known for its sandy beaches, Bandar Seri Iskandar features the best of two worlds modern development and a natural environment. Bandar Seri Iskandar is in a stretch of land between two towns, Batu Gajah and Lumut. It is currently being developed into industrial zones. These zones will include the Industrial and Technological Park, Pharmaceutical Park, Educational Park and Research and Science Park.
