Electronic System Engineering Technology - Finland

Did you know that Finland is the home of Angry Birds, Nokia, and Linux? It is a great place for engineering minds. It is also known for its thousands of lakes and islands that you can explore. Hosted at Aalto University, located in a beautiful peninsula in the Helsinki area, we are offering a course that will teach you how data is transmitted over wireless links. You will be able to explain and apply several communications engineering concepts and  experiment with different wireless network topologies, from short range to long distance wireless links.

Finland is a Nordic country and member of the European Union (EU).  At the same time, it shares a background with the East, such as Russia and Baltic countries. The official language of Finland is Finnish, which is part of the Finno-Ugric language. Finland is a pioneer country on wireless communications, the home of Nokia networks. It is now investing a lot of money on innovation, especially research on fifth generation (5G) cellular networks.

Eligibility Requirements

Students who desire to study abroad must have:

  • Minimum of 2.5 GPA
  • Good academic standing with university
  • Approval of the professor
  • Attendance at ALL program specific orientations

Guaranteed

The Dwight Look College of Engineering is offering scholarship for selected student who has a 2.5 or higher GPA at time of application. There is no need to apply for the engineering scholarship, it is automatic if students meet all of the requirements listed below:

  • Have a 2.5 or higher GPA at time of application
  • Satisfy the course requirements for admission
  • Be admitted and confirmed by March 15, 2018 (or whenever other fall study abroad students have to confirm by)
  • Required to attend all Study Abroad Programs Office (SAPO) and College of Engineering pre-trip orientations
  • Submit requested documents by deadlines

Financial Aid
