Research Interests

    • PDT – Parallel Deterministic Transport, PIs: Marvin Adams, Nancy Amato, Lawrence Rauchwerger. Summary: A parallel C++ code for discrete-ordinates transport written using a precursor of the STAPL library. I have been involved in the project since 2001 and have worked with Dr. Adams and his students to implement multiple transport algorithms in the code. I have also implemented infrastructure used by the transport methods that allow the nuclear engineering students on the project to focus on the transport method instead of the details of the parallel implementation.

     

    • STAPL – Standard Template Adaptive Parallel Library, PIs: Nancy Amato, Lawrence Rauchwerger. Summary: A library for C++ that provides support for parallel programming. STAPL provides parallel algorithms and parallel containers that enable users to develop parallel applications by writing code that closely resembles C++ written using the Standard Template Library (STL). I have been involved in the project since 1999. My dissertation work is implemented in STAPL and focuses on simplifying the development of parallel algorithms and applications by allowing the developer to express them as a composition of task graphs.
