What is the overall goal of your project?

As stated in a recent report on automated vehicle (AV) technologies by the National Science & Technology Council and the US Department of Transportation, the AV technologies have the potential not only to transform the future of transportation but also to make our roadway safer by reducing crashes caused by human errors. A high-fidelity virtualization environment for training, development, and validation of AVs could provide a digital platform that will greatly reduce the time and cost to develop the next generation AVs.
