A Residential Community for Engineering Honors Students
The Engineering Honors Community of Scholars (ECOS) is an optional, residential component of the Engineering Honors program that offers Engineering Honors students a fun and engaging residential community with a strong support system within the Engineering Village @ The Commons.
ECOS residents experience:
- Living with other high-achieving students
- Housing in the newly renovated Mosher Hall
- Placement in a "squad" led by older Engineering Honors students who put on weekly events and activities designed for:
- academic success - group homework sessions, meet-and-greets with professors and research expos
- community building - movie marathons, board game nights, engineering competitions, the Big Event and peer teaching
- professional development - resume clinics, mock interviews, workshops on internships, fellowships, undergraduate research and mixers with industry
ECOS is just one living learning community within the Engineering Village @ The Commons. Features of the Engineering Village include:
- Community Learning Center with computers, study spaces, and a resource library with study/test prep materials
- Convenient access to tutoring hosted by the Academic Success Center (Commons 018)
- Fully equipped game room with table tennis, video games and more for when you need a study break
- "All You Can Eat" dining facility featuring a variety of cuisines, "Grab and Go" food options and a convenience store
How to Apply
- Complete your Engineering Honors application by February 15
- **Apply for Housing and the Engineering Village @ The Commons LLC by April 1, but it is recommended to apply as soon as possible as spaces fill quickly. Please note: Membership is reserved for students who have guaranteed housing. If you are on the waitlist, you will not be able to join an LLC until you are moved up to guaranteed housing.
