Scholarships

WE Scholarships:

WE has scholarship opportunities for students seeking financial assistance that have been involved in WE programs. Scholarship recipients are required to maintain their GPA and complete a number of volunteer service hours within the Women in Engineering Program and college to continue receiving funding. Other scholarships are available through the college and university. For more information, please contact weoutreach@tamu.edu

WE Engineers for Tomorrow Scholarship:
Engineers for Tomorrow is a one-year $1,000 scholarship award provided to students in the engineering college. WE student recipients are chosen based on their financial need, involvement in K-12 pre-college programs and interest in serving as ambassadors for the Women in Engineering Program. 

David Olver Memorial Scholarship funded by GCPA emPOWERing Foundation:
To assist deserving women students in attaining their educational goals, encourage participation in the electric power industry and increase awareness of the GCPA emPOWERing Foundation by investing in education. The Foundation provides WE with the eligibility requirements that the board has determined meet these goals. Scholarship recipients are selected based upon merit by faculty members at partner educational institutions. Scholarships are funded through the annual operating budget of the Foundation and the board has defined the following eligibility requirements:

  1. US citizen or a foreign national with permanent residency
  2. Preference to EE or ME students specializing in electric power industry related fields of study
  3. Preference for Sophomore, Junior, Senior or Master's level student
  4. Scholarships are in $5000 increments
