Jeremy Davis, a graduate student in the Department of Aerospace Engineering at Texas A&M University, has received the 2009 AIAA Willy Z. Sadeh Graduate Student Award in Space Engineering and Space Sciences.

Davis was honored at the 47th AIAA Aerospace Sciences Meeting and Exhibit in Orlando, Fla., in January.

This $5,000 award made each year to graduate students throughout the world and is highly competitive.

Davis is pursuing a Ph.D. in the dynamics and control area, and his advisor is Dr. John L. Junkins, Distinguished Professor, Regents Professor and holder of the Royce E. Wisenbaker Chair in Engineering.

  1. John Junkins Says:

Jeremy Davis is the kind of PhD student ever professor dreams of mentoring. He is bright, highly self-motivated, works hard and smiles simultaneously, and is not afraid to do the full range of engineering from conceptual analysis, engineering science modeling and analysis, computation, experiment, and design-build-test. Furthermore, he does most all of these well, which is remarkable. We can look forward to many accomplishments from Jeremy over his career. The Willy Z. Sadeh Graduate Student Award could not bestowed on a more deserving individual and we look forward to many national recognitions of his future accomplishments.
