Engineers Week celebration kicks off Monday
Texas A&M University’s annual celebration of National Engineers Week, or E-Week, will kick off Monday (Feb. 16) at 10 a.m.
The Student Engineer’s council will be hosting several events during the week starting with a basketball tailgate Monday evening hosted by Chevron.
On Tuesday, there will be a Jeopardy! wall in the lobby of the Zachry Engineering Center followed by a Dwight Look College of Engineering faculty dinner hosted by ConocoPhillips.
The week will continue with a student interest gallery, an open forum for freshmen and a date auction. On Friday, there will be a tri-sports tournament on the polo fields that will include activities such as ultimate Frisbee and kickball.
The week concludes with a Society of Women Engineers’ Fun Run at the Zachry parking lot.
Founded as “National Engineers Week” in 1951 by the National Society of Professional Engineers (NSPE), E-Week is among the oldest of America’s professional outreach efforts.
