Registration open for ESET’s professional engineering workshops

The Electronic Systems Engineering Technology (ESET) program at Texas A&M University will be offering two professional engineering workshops: Lean Six Sigma (Green Belt/Yellow Belt) and Bridge to Test (Session IV). These workshops are designed to help engineers develop a wide array of practical and professional skills.

Lean Six Sigma training specializes in waste elimination, process improvement, robust design and statistical analysis skills. Dr. Wei Zhan, associate professor and program coordinator for the ESET program and a Six Sigma Master Black Belt, will teach two short courses.

The first, Yellow Belt, provides an introduction to Lean Six Sigma, the DMAIC process and project execution. The Green Belt course covers the same material, but offers advanced instruction to better prepare those who will be leading or playing a major role in Lean Six Sigma projects.

Bridge to Test is an intense 12-day program that provides engineers complete immersion in test engineering. This non-stop training will provide extensive understanding of the test process, transforming those with little to no experience into capable contributors. Spending eight hours each day in the lab with homework at night, students will demonstrate understanding via hands-on, written and oral challenges.
