Searcy elected ASABE president

Searcy -685x 1024Dr. Stephen W. Searcy, professor and department head in the Department of Biological and Agricultural Engineering at Texas A&M University, has been elected president of the American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers (ASABE).

Searcy will begin a three-year term at the close of the 2016 ASABE annual meeting to be held in Orlando, Florida, in July. He will serve one year each as president-elect, president and past president.

A member of ASABE since 1980, Searcy has served as society treasure, as a trustee and as a member of a variety of technical and executive committees. He was inducted as an ASABE Fellow in 2008.

Searcy will succeed Maynard Herron, who begins his tenure as ASABE president at the close of the Orlando meeting.
