Dr. M. M. Faruque Hasan, assistant professor in the Artie McFerrin Department of Chemical Engineering at Texas A&M University, has been awarded the Ralph E. Powe Junior Faculty Enhancement Award from Oak Ridge Associated Universities (ORAU).
Hasan will use the award to research accurate and efficient characterization of gas adsorption inside microporous materials (zeolites and metal-organic frameworks) for energy applications, such as methane separation and storage, carbon capture and hydrogen separation.
“This award is substantial because it comes with a significant prestige due to its rigorous peer-review and selection process," said Hasan. "The award will also enhance my research for the design and discovery of novel materials and processes for energy applications."
