Keith Krenek, a graduate student in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Texas A&M University, has been awarded a National Science Foundation (NSF) Graduate Research Fellowship (GRF). NSF awarded the GRF to 2,000 individuals from among 16,500 applicants in 2015. Krenek is advised by Dr. Arum Han, director of the NanoBio Systems Laboratory.
This highly competitive fellowship is awarded to the top graduate students who have demonstrated potential to strengthen the vitality of the U.S. science and engineering enterprise. Krenek's proposed graduate research aims to improve how biomedical research is traditionally conducted by developing micro- and nano-technologies for life science applications.
Krenek received his bachelor's degree in electrical and computer engineering in 2014, graduating summa cum laude, and has received many honors including the Leroy Fouraker Graduate Fellow, the Lockheed Martin Excellent Participation Award, the Texas A&M Nicole Corser Memorial Scholarship, the President’s Award for Educational Excellence and National Merit commended.
