The Dwight Look College of Engineering participated in Aggieland Saturday, the premier open house event for prospective, current, and former students and their families hosted by the Texas A&M University Office of Admissions on Feb. 14, 2015.
This year’s event welcomed approximately 12,000 visitors to campus to explore all Aggieland has to offer through guided tours, presentations, resource tables and the opportunity to meet with faculty and staff representatives.
The daylong event kicked off with presentations in Rudder Auditorium. Dr. Valerie Taylor, senior associate dean for Engineering and Academic Student Affairs (EASA), represented the Look College and discussed the Top 10 reasons individuals should pursue engineering at the Look College.
Immediately following Taylor’s presentation, thousands of interested students lined up for the opportunity to talk to academic advisors, faculty and staff at the engineering resource table located in Rudder Exhibit Hall.
In addition to attending the dean’s presentation and collecting general information, prospective engineering students were encouraged to visit individual departments within the college of engineering. In the departments, visitors were invited to sign-up for laboratory tours, visit resource tables, participate in demonstrations and attend information sessions.
Students also had the opportunity to meet with student organizations.
