Sravani Nuti has been named recipient of the 2014-2015 Outstanding Engineering Master's Graduate Student Award. This award is presented to a graduate student who demonstrates exceptional achievement and overall performance. The award will be presented to Nuti during the upcoming Dwight Look College of Engineering Student Awards Banquet on November 13 at the Bethancourt Ballroom of the Memorial Student Center at Texas A&M University. She will also receive a scholarship of $5,000. 

Sravani enrolled as a masters student in the Department of Mechanical Engineering in Fall 2012, and will graduate in December. She received her bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from the National Institute of Technology, Karnataka, India. Her research involves modeling the movement of thin elastic rods, which will be used in the development of an interactive software that can simulate the movement of a suture thread, which will help train medical students in the act of suturing. Her committee members include Dr. J. N. Reddy (chair), Dr. Annie Ruimi (co-chair) and Dr. Arun Srinivasa (member).
