Barry Lawrence of the Department of Engineering Technology and Industrial Distribution to receive the ECIA Distinguished Service Award. This Award is presented annually by the association to those individuals who have made significant contributions to the leadership and activities of the electronic components industry and the association.

“Dr. Lawrence’s tireless contributions as an educator and researcher in the field of industrial distribution, as well as being a strong advocate for NEDA, ECIA and the electronics industry, have made a significant difference in the progress and success of ECA’s programs and has left a valuable legacy to the industry and ECIA," said Robin B. Gray, Jr., chief operating officer and general counsel of ECIA. "Without his participation and support, the association would not have achieved its acceptance and success.”

Lawrence’s contributions will be recognized during the annual ECIA Awards Ceremony, held in conjunction with the Executive Conference, in Chicago on Oct. 28.

Lawrence is the Leonard & Valerie Bruce Chair Professor in Industrial Distribution, program coordinator of industrial distribution, director of Thomas & Joan Read Center for Distribution Research & Education and director of the Global Supply Chain Laboratory.
