Enjeti, the TI Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, won the award in the renewable energy category for his paper titled “Medium Voltage AC Collection Grid for Large Scale Photovoltaic Plants based on Medium Frequency Transformers” at the Power Conversion Intelligent Motion (PCIM) conference in Shanghai, China.

The proposed ac collection grid is shown to increase power density, enable faster deployment and improves the system modularity while maintaining high efficiency levels. The paper coauthors are: Mr. Bahaa Hafez (graduate student, ECE@Tamu); Dr. Shehab Ahmed (ECE faculty @TAMU-Qatar); Dr. Ufee Borup (@Danfoss Solar Inverters, USA).

Enjeti joined the department in 1988 and is responsible for developing the college's state-of-the-art undergraduate design experience laboratory. From 2008 to 2010, he was associate dean of academic affairs at Texas A&M University at Qatar.

Enjeti's research focuses on power electronics and power quality; advancing switching power supply designs and solutions to complex power management issues; power conditioning systems for fuel cells, wind and solar energy systems; and design of high temperature power conversion systems with wide band-gap semiconductor devices.
