Dr. M. Katherine Banks, vice chancellor and dean of engineering, has appointed Dr. Choongho Yu holder of the Gulf Oil/Thomas A. Dietz Career Development Professor II in Mechanical Engineering. The endowed development professorship was effective June 1.
Yu is an associate professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering. Yu received his Ph.D. in mechanical engineering from The University of Texas in 2004, and his master’s and bachelor’s degrees, both in mechanical engineering, from Korea University.
Yu’s research interests include energy harvesting and cooling; thermal and electrical transport behaviors; energy storage; and thermal management.
