Dr. M. Katherine Banks, vice chancellor and dean of engineering, has appointed Dr. Lawrence Rauchwerger holder of the Eppright Professorship in Engineering in the Dwight Look College of Engineering. The endowed professorship was effective June 1.
Rauchwerger is a professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering and joined the faculty at Texas A&M University in 1996. He received his Ph.D. in computer science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, his master’s in electrical engineering from Stanford University, and a diploma in electronica engineering from Polytechnic Institute, Bucharest.
Rauchwerger’s research interests include compilers for parallel and distributed computing, parallel and distributed C++ libraries, adaptive runtime optimizations, and architectures for parallel computing.
