Shumaker, Director of the Institute for Simulation and Training (IST) at the University of Central Florida, will present his talk entitled,"Human-Robot Collaboration," as part of the Emergency Informatics Distinguished Lecture Series. The lecture will be held on Friday, April 11, 2014 at 9:00 a.m. in room 333 of the H.R. Bright Building on the Texas A&M University campus. Dr. Shumaker will discuss IST's research into allowing robots to collaborate naturally with humans in complex, high consequence situations.

"IST is among the largest and most diverse research groups in the US dealing with applications of modeling and simulation research in a wide range of applications," said Dr. Shumaker. It has a staff of 250. Dr. Shumaker's research is in the areas of human-agent interaction, adaptive systems, and biomorphic computing. He has a Ph.D. in computer science from the University of Pennsylvania and is a registered Professional Engineer.
