Dr. M. Katherine Banks, vice chancellor and dean of engineering, has appointed Dr. Ding Zhu holder of the L.F. Peterson ’36 Professorship. The endowed professorship appointment was effective Nov. 1, 2013.
Zhu is a professor in the Harold Vance Department of Petroleum Engineering. Her research interests include production and well simulation and complex well performance, and sandstone acidizing and intelligent well technology.
She joined the Texas A&M engineering faculty in 2004.
Zhu earned both her Ph.D. and master’s in petroleum engineering from The University of Texas in Austin and her bachelor’s in petroleum engineering from Beijing University of Science & Technology.
