Photo of Laura and Chris CurransLaura C. ’87 and Christopher B. Curran ’87 have established the North Texas IT Leadership Endowed Scholarship.

The scholarship will be awarded to full-time students pursuing undergraduate degrees in computer science or management information systems from Texas A&M University. Preference will be given for students displaying leadership qualities through involvement in an honor society, student organization or the Corps of Cadets.

“Laura and I are deeply committed to lifelong learning and nurturing future leaders, especially in science and technology,” Chris said. “Given the dramatic changes in the world in everything digital, we are happy to support students applying their leadership skills to advancing the growth of the information technology field.”

The scholarship will be awarded annually and alternated between students pursuing degrees in computer science and engineering and management information systems.

PwC, Chris’s employer, contributed to the scholarship through its matching gifts program. Chris has been a partner with PwC since 2010 and serves as the Chief Technologist for its U.S. Advisory business.

The Currans both received their bachelor’s degrees from Texas A&M in 1987; Christopher earned his in computer science while Laura majored in finance. They have two high school sons attending Jesuit Dallas whom they hope will soon become Aggies, too.
