College of Engineering to host TAME Math and Science Competition

The Dwight Look College of Engineering will host the Texas Alliance for Minorities in Engineering (TAME) Math & Science Competition on Saturday beginning at 8 a.m.

The TAME competition tests students on math and science concepts learned during the school year and it is designed to improve student understanding of core subject matter and provides participants with an opportunity to interact with like-minded students from across Texas.

Many of the participants are the first in their family to consider college, and the competition offers them a first-hand experience to the higher education and career possibilities in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM).

The competition will be held in the Zachry Engineering Center, and the contestants will also attend the Physics and Engineering Festival that is being held on the A&M campus on Saturday.
