Parsaei joins industrial engineering faculty

Photo of Dr. Hamid ParsaeiDr. Hamid R. Parsaei has joined the faculty of the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering at Texas A&M University as a tenured full professor.

Parsaei is a registered professional engineer in Texas and a fellow of the Institute of Industrial Engineers. Before joining the Texas A&M faculty, he was a professor of mechanical engineering and associate dean for academic affairs at Texas A&M University at Qatar. He previously was professor and chair of the Department of Industrial Engineering at the University of Houston.

Parsaei received his M.S. in industrial engineering from Western Michigan University and and his Ph.D. from the University of Texas at Arlington. He has published more than 180 articles in refereed journals, conference proceedings and edited books. He has advised and co-advised more than 60 Ph.D. dissertations, M.S. theses and M.E. reports, and is a member of Tau Beta Pi (Engineering Honor Society) and Alpha Pi Mu (Industrial Engineering Honor Society).
