Heidari wins SPE junior faculty award

Photo of Dr. Zoya HeidariDr. Zoya Heidari, assistant professor and Chevron Corporation Faculty Fellow in the Harold Vance Department of Petroleum Engineering at Texas A&M University, is one of six recipients of the prestigious 2012 Petroleum Engineer Junior Faculty Research Initiation Award from the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE).

This award recognizes Heidari’s excellence in commitment to academic research and student supervision. She will receive the award during the ceremonies at the Annu­al Technical Conference and Exhibition in San An­tonio in October.

Heidari joined the Texas A&M petroleum engineering faculty in 2011. She received a Ph.D. in petroleum engineering from The University of Texas at Austin. Previously, she worked for the Formation Evaluation Research Group at The University of Texas at Austin. Her research interests include petrophysics, well logging, borehole geophysics, inverse problems, rock physics, and unconventional reservoirs.
